Advent Activities

Weekly Advent Celebrations

Sundays, Dec. 8, 15 and 22, 9:15-10:15am in the Fellowship Hall

We’ll celebrate the season of anticipation and joy with stories and activities for all ages, including creating a Jesse Tree for Immanuel. The Jesse Tree is like a pictorial storybook of the Old Testament, teaching us the stories that lead us to our Messiah. The Advent events will be held in place of regular education formats. Come, watch and wait with us for the miracle of Christmas.

Advent Service Project

We are collecting items for Lutheran Social Services’ LifeHaven program and putting together Welcome Baskets during our Advent celebrations. Please bring any of the following to help teen mothers prepare for babies: diapers (size 3 -4 Pampers), sleep sacks, baby bath towels, pajama sets (NB-3T), teething rings or small toys.

Participate in Worship

We have an opportunity for children and families to participate in our Advent services again this year. Each week during 10:30 worship, a Sunday school class will help bring and light candles for our Advent wreath and carry up parts of the creche. All family members may join the procession and sit together in the front of the sanctuary. Please meet in the narthex at 10:25 am to get organized.
