Adult learners join children and youth this year in exploring “Who is my neighbor?” We’ll look at neighbors around the world, around the corner, and in our own church. We begin the year with a grounding in the Parable of the Good Samaritan, then we will move to the issues of housing and hunger in our city.
October 6– “Who Is My Neighbor?” – a look at the parable of the Good Samaritan with Pastor Cindy
October 13: Affordable housing in St. Paul – what are the issues? Gretchen Vanderlinden-Wang will speak about housing in our city– The issues and possible solutions.
October 20: “Sold Out” is a PBS documentary about affordable housing in the Twin Cities. We will watch some excerpts and have a lively discussion
October 27: Transitional housing – a way out of homelessness. Sarah Liegl, director Project Home will describe their good work in transitional housing, and the new Day Center under their care.
November 3: Update from the Time of Discovery Team – as we move to the phase of listening to our neighbors, come hear what we learned from listening to the congregation.
November 10: Faith and Feeding Hungry People – Deacon Kari Olsen will talk about Shobi’s table – a renewed faith community built around feeding our neighbors.
