We’re looking for stories or pictures of everyday things. You can record a short video or send a picture and just upload them HERE or email them to Pastor Cindy. If you don’t have Internet access, call Pastor Cindy or Chris Cherwien. They can help you.
Holy Communion — July 12
Holy Communion will be celebrated the second Sunday of each month during our online 10:00 a.m. service beginning July 12. We will continue sharing Communion online monthly on the 2nd Sunday until we can return to our sanctuary. For more information about communion or how to prepare the table at home, see HERE.
Children, Youth and Family At-Home Service Opportunity
We have a number of supplies to create bags for homeless youth served by StreetWorks outreach teams. Michelle and Emily are looking for youth to help divide up bulk items and deliver them to homes and families to assemble the individual kits. Interested? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Racial Justice Opportunities
Would you like a chance to process all that you have seen, heard, and read in past few weeks? Would you like to think about how your faith speaks to these issues? Would you like to speak or listen with others in your community? Here are a few opportunities:
Neighbors in the Mac-Groveland area have the opportunity to meet virtually via Zoom to discuss to book, “How to be an Antiracist”,by Ibram X. Kendi’s beginning in July. Visit www.macgrove.org/2020webinars to learn more.
Because learning and transformation take intentional effort over time, we are beginning several small groups of people who would like to walk together in racial justice. Each group meeting will have time for learning, prayer, discussion and small steps together. Wherever you are on the journey of racial justice, you are welcome. If you are interested, sign up HERE to let us know a preferred time and frequency.
All residents of Minnesota are invited to the “One Book/One Minnesota” read of the book “A Good Time for the Truth.” There is more information HERE.
Middle School Book Club
A book club for incoming 7th-graders through incoming 9th-graders will meet on Zoom at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings. Know of a middle-schooler who would love to join? Please email Michelle at firstname.lastname@example.org – the more, the merrier. The book will be “A Long Way From Chicago” by Richard Peck.
Join us on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. for a group Bible study via Zoom. We’ll explore the gospel for the following Sunday. No preparation required. Sign up HERE and we’ll send you the link.
How to Give
Immanuel is still doing ministry among our members and in the community, but we are not able to pass the plate on Sunday morning. Please find a way to continue your giving to God’s work through Immanuel. You can make your offerings online, and even set up regular weekly gifts from our website http://ilcsp.org/give/. You can download the Give Plus app at the App Store or Google Play. You can mail your offering to the church. We are grateful for your generous gifts.
Church Office Closed
The council has endorsed the recommendations put forward by the Building Reopen team to keep the building closed through Labor Day. Requests for the use of outdoor space during this time are to be brought to and approved by said team. The recommendations are based on safety considerations for worshippers and staff alike. The team and church leadership will continue to assess and evaluate as the current situation continues. The church office is currently closed to visitors.
Staff are working in the building on a limited basis and checking phone messages and mail. You can reach the staff by phone at 651-699-5560 or email (see HERE for a list of email addresses). If you have an emergency, please call Pastor Cindy at 651-260-3090.
