Worship on Sundays
We will live stream worship on Facebook live this Sunday at 10am. Grab a candle and a cup of coffee and join us for worship at facebook.com/immanuelstpaul. If you miss us at 10, the service will be posted on our website later that day.
Beginning Wednesday, March 25, we will offer a group bible study via Zoom. We have lots of spaces – your name is on one of them. Sign up HERE so we’ll know how many are coming and we’ll send you the link.
Immanuel youth will be invited to a groupme group and will gather via Zoom on Sunday evenings. Confirmation will meet via Zoom beginning March 25. Michelle will send you links. 9th-grade confirmands – keep meeting with your mentor and working on those faith statements!
Immanuel’s children and their families can access family devotions and learning resources for Sunday School. Click HERE for links. Come back often – Emily always has some surprises for you!
Many of our elders are at home in the midst of the outbreak. The Care Team, staff and Church Council will continue to be in touch with our elders by phone or email. There are volunteers who have offered to run errands or shop for groceries, so they don’t have to go out. If you know of someone who needs extra help, let Pastor Cindy know.
The Red Cross has approached us to host a blood drive. There is a severe shortage, and many drives have been canceled. It will be scheduled for the first or second week of April. Please stay tuned. If you are not at risk (sorry, seniors, you still need to stay home) this is a great way to help the community in the midst of the outbreak.
Safe House, the teen homeless shelter near Immanuel, is open 24/7 during the outbreak and they need meals. At this time, they prefer groceries that the staff can prepare. They are looking for:
You can drop off groceries at the house without going in, but contact Rosie Blanc for the address and to let them know you are coming (Rosie.Blanc@lssmn.org)
It’s still Minnesota Food Share Month
A financial donation is the most effective way to help the Keystone food shelf right now – they can use it to buy food in bulk. Go HERE to make a donation, then be sure to let us know – Immanuel’s foundation is still matching gifts to Keystone during March up to $2000.
During the Outbreak, Project Home Shelter is moving from churches to the Day Center site where families will shelter in place. That will require hiring staff instead of using volunteers. Go HERE to make a donation to Project Home.
How to Give
Immanuel is still doing ministry among our members and in the community. But we are not receiving Sunday offerings. Please find a way to continue your giving to God’s work through Immanuel. You can make your regular offerings online HERE, and even set up regular weekly gifts during this season. You can download the Give Plus app at the App Store or Google Play. You can mail your offering to the church. We are grateful for your generous gifts.
Use of the building
The Church Council has agreed that we will follow the CDC guidelines that no groups over 10 people may meet at the church until further notice. Deanna will be at the church daily to answer phones, receive the mail, and keep us running. Other staff members will be working mainly from home and cell phone.
The church directory can be accessed by computer HERE or from the instant church directory app (available at the App Store or Google Play). If your email is in the directory, you can access the directory. If you need help with it, contact Kari Moeller, Kathy Raider, Deanna Hesse or Pastor Cindy. If you need a printed copy, contact the church office.
